Two weeks ago, our senior management team had the privilege of attending our annual ‘Salute Leadership Huddle’, this year held in Seattle – an event that brought together over 200 of our leaders from across the organisation – to discuss ‘what comes next for our industry’.

The timing could not have been better, as the city was alive with celebration following the Super Bowl LX victory by the Seattle Seahawks – a reminder that high performance, preparation and teamwork are what ultimately define success.

Throughout the leadership sessions, we explored the strength, resilience and impact that define the Salute community, and the legacy we are building as an organisation. But the most energising conversations centred on the future of data centre development.

The industry is entering a transformative new phase of growth. Driven by AI workloads, hyperscale cloud expansion and the rapid rise of NeoCloud platforms, development is accelerating beyond traditional hubs into emerging and non-traditional markets.

Capacity is being deployed closer to new power sources, new user bases and new digital ecosystems. Speed to market, energy strategy and operational excellence are now more interconnected than ever. For our teams, this presents both responsibility and opportunity.

Our role is not simply to follow growth, but to anticipate it. To identify emerging trends early. To understand how AI-driven infrastructure changes power density, cooling strategies and resilience planning. And to help our current and future clients maximise effectiveness in every new environment they enter.

The conversations in Seattle reinforced a simple truth: the next chapter of data centre development will demand adaptability, technical depth and a relentless focus on operational performance.

The future is expanding geographically. It is accelerating technologically. And our role remains to ensure our clients, wherever they are located, are always ready to take the next step!
