Jerry Skinner is this month celebrating 16 years with 2bm, one of the UK’s leading data centre design and build specialists.
Having joined the Chilwell-based company from XMA in 2008, Jerry initially worked on business development.
“In leaving one of the UK’s largest providers of IT solutions and products, I was looking for a career change and something far more rewarding,” commented Jerry.
“After a short period with 2bm, I knew I had made the right move.”
“Not only was I promoted to Contracts and Operations Manager, but I was able to enjoy direct contact with clients, which has helped maximise my experience of working on contracts, frameworks and tenders.”
“In a world where so much business communication takes place digitally, 2bm thrives on customer interaction and, whenever possible, carried out face to face.”
“Whilst this creates a fair bit of travel around the UK and Europe, we believe this a key in developing strong relationships.”
“It’s such an exciting time both for 2bm and the industry as a whole. The pace of change and technological advancement in the world of data centres is unrelenting.”
“2bm is such a vibrant place to work, not only being part of a fantastic team but the social side too.”
“I love playing golf, watching horse racing and sport in general with Team 2bm, including a recent visit to the Paddy Power world darts championships at Alexandra Palace.”
“One of my favourite social occasions, however, remains 2bm’s tenth-anniversary celebrations in 2012, held at Archerfield in Scotland.”
“As well as having our key customers attend, we were joined by a host of PGA golf professionals and celebrities, including former world darts champions John Lowe and Eric Bristow.”
“2024 is already shaping up to be another milestone year for 2bm, which is exciting for everyone at 2bm,” added Jerry.
