A bit of background about your career to date?
I worked for 15 years in Construction and Maintenance before going back to University in 2015 and graduating in 2018 with a degree in Communications with English literature.
What would you say your strengths are?
I think my strengths are that I am high in trait conscientiousness, which basically means that doing my best and being the best I can be are very important to me. It was this characteristic that kept me up late at night reading for my degree and this was a massive contribution to me achieving a first class honours degree.
What inspires you?
My children inspire me every day.
What are your interests away from work?
I am very outdoorsy and enjoy exploring the Peak District as often as the weather allows. I also read at least one book a week and exercise several times a week. A book I’m reading at the moment is ‘Wealth, Poverty and Politics’ by Robert Sowell.
What is your favourite sport?
I used to participate in UFC (American mixed martial arts) and now enjoy watching it.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
I love to visit North Devon.
What’s your favourite movie?
Scent of a Woman starring Al Pacino and Gabrielle Anwar.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
It has to be having kids!
What’s your favourite meal?
I love a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings!
If you were an animal, which would you be?
I think it would have to be a Hyena, they’re always happy (laughing).
Who is the most famous person you have ever met (if any!)?
That’s an easy one to finish on! In my teens I played tennis for Nottingham County and we were given tickets to go to Wimbledon, where I met Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Tim Henman and Pat Rafter.
I have also met Boris Becker whilst playing poker in Nottingham!
