We’re pleased to welcome Katey Cottrell as our new Business Administrator, bringing extensive experience in operations, management and HR across the retail, wholesale, warehouse and distribution sectors.

As well as providing general administration and office support to all our departments, Katey will be liaising with clients, suppliers and stakeholders processing orders, scheduling resources for project delivery, office compliance and co-ordinating maintenance.

To help you get to know Katey better, we asked her some of 2bm’s traditional ‘icebreaker’ questions about herself and life away from work…

What motivates you?
For me, it’s about personal growth combined with pushing myself outside my comfort zone.

What excites you most about your new job?
Being part of a team that supports critical cutting-edge data centre infrastructure and brings innovation and expertise to the market.

What’s the best professional advice you’ve ever received?
My answer is two-fold. First to ‘manage your energy, not just your time’ and also ‘be reliable’ above all else.

What’s your favourite sport you love to play?
Swimming. Which is very much just a hobby.

Where is your favourite holiday destination?
Travelling in my motorhome, which is not so much a destination, more a holiday adventure. Following a recommendation, I recently visited Northumberland, which was amazing.

Name something that is on your bucket list?
In the future, I would really like the opportunity to travel to Thailand.

Do you have any hidden talents?
Yes, singing, including performing ‘live’ at two weddings.

Finally, how do you wind down after work?
Socialising and listening to music, including Chase & Status and also Chris Brown.
