With one in four people likely to experience a mental health problem at some point in their lives, the health and well-being in the workplace is now a key focus for many businesses.
2bm Managing Director Mark King commented: “As a business, we are committed to the health and well-being of our staff, their families and our communities.”
“Today we have been at a ‘Meet for Good’ event to hear from Alex Staniforth, a record-breaking adventurer, inspirational speaker, fundraiser and charity founder, who is no stranger to overcoming his own challenges,” added Mark.

At the age of 28, Alex has already overcome more than most will ever face during a lifetime.
Whilst as a teenager Alex survived the two most significant disasters in Mount Everest history, his biggest mountains haven’t involved physical activity they have been with epilepsy, bullying, mental ill health and a lifelong stammer.
Alex has never allowed this to become his identity – only his experience – preferring to re-frame adversity as an opportunity for growth has given him a new mission: to help others achieve their own ‘Everest’.
Alex doesn’t just simply talk about it either, he walks the walk – or should we say climbs, cycles and runs it.

Alex is the fastest person to climb all 100 UK county tops. He has raised £100,000 through his various adventures, won the Pride of Britain Granada Reports Fundraiser of the Year award in 2017 and received a ‘Points of Light’ award from the Prime Minister in 2023.
He’s is also an accomplished author with two books, ‘Icefall’ and ‘Another Peak’, and founded a national charity called ‘Mind Over Mountains’ which helps to restore mental well-being through nature.
Meet for Good is a personal and business development ‘collective’. Launched in January 2020, it aims to create an environment through which business meets high performance, sport and charity – across the Midlands and beyond.
