Introduction
The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, places specific duties of care on Employers, Employees and the Self Employed. These duties are absolute and it is a criminal offence not to comply with the requirements of the Act. It is important that all persons employed are aware of their legal requirements and responsibilities under the Act, specifically Sections 2 and 3 for Employer, and Sections 7 and 8 for Employees.
2bm Ltd recognises that the health and safety of its employees, visitors and members of the public is essential, not only for the efficient operation of the business, but for the discharge of its responsibilities.
2bm has identified the individual roles and responsibilities for the management, implementation and monitoring of the Health, Safety and Welfare of all persons and safety systems under their direct control. The diagram below highlights the hierarchy of health and safety responsibilities and the support and means for the reporting of all Health, Safety and Welfare issues.

Directors are responsible to the Managing Director on all aspects of Health, Safety and Welfare, and to ensure that all activities carried out under their control are, so far as is reasonably practicable, without risk to health and safety of persons exposed to them.
In carrying out their responsibilities (especially for ‘day to day’ tasks), they may designate some activities to the Managers. Whilst Managers may be assigned tasks and undertake responsibilities, the responsibility to ensure they are being carried out remains with the Directors.

Individual staff will be responsible for complying with the health and safety procedures and to report any breaches or potential breaches to their line managers.
