At 2bm we are able to advise on the very latest thoughts on cooling thanks to our partnerships with leading manufacturers and suppliers, which enables us to supply and install equipment at a competitive price, whilst surpassing their recommended installation requirements.
We also have extensive experience in the design of room layouts including Cold Corridor TM to ensure temperature is no longer an issue within your data centre.
Our innovative range of cabinets, with their 80% mesh doors also improves airflow, all resulting in greatly reduced temperatures and increased server reliability.
Free cooling is available when the external ambient air temperature is less than the indoor air temperature and the cool external air is lower than the room's requirement.
In the UK this occurs for approximately 40% of the year and yet is rarely taken advantage of. The cooler ambient air can in some cases be transferred directly into the room but is more commonly used to cool a secondary medium, such as glycol / water.
Free Cooling is achieved by circulation of the secondary medium, which either assists with the air conditioning's prime circuit or when ambient temperatures are low enough, replaces it completely.
Consequently during certain months of the year and often at night, cooling is provided without the need to run refrigeration plant. This significantly reduces power consumption, carbon emissions and running costs.
