The University of Glamorgan is the latest organisation to opt for the 2bm iMeter to help address the growing need to monitor and manage power consumption within their data centre.
The installation, which is due to take place in October, will deliver immediate benefits with both power and environmental data available to analyse thanks to the easy to use sensors and user friendly software.
“We are delighted that the University has chosen to go with the 2bm iMeter solution,” explained 2bm’s Adam Wilson.
“Effective power management can only be carried out by monitoring power consumption down to rack level. However, the task of being able to collate, manipulate and effectively analyse the huge amounts of data generated by monitoring to rack level is colossal.
“The 2bm iMS solution addresses this problem by enabling organisations to quickly and easily identify which racks use the most power, understand more readily why power usage is what it is and suggest where power savings can potentially be made.
“And one of the big selling points is that the installation also requires no downtime which saves both time and money when comparing the 2bm iMeter to other solutions out there in the marketplace .”
