Landesbank opt for 2bm Design and Build solution

Leading German banking organisation Landesbank has chosen 2bm Limited to manage the design and build of a new data centre in the City of London headquarters.

The project will see the overhaul of an existing legacy facility to free up much needed office space, whilst improving operational and energy efficiency.

Work has already started following a competitive tendering process and includes the provision of cooling, fire suppression, environmental monitoring, innovative new EvoRacks, overhaul of cabling and the housing of a new CAT 6 screened data network.

Once the new facility is complete, the migration of the existing servers will take place in a managed way to ensure continual operation.

“We’re delighted to have been given the chance to work with the team at Landesbank,” said Gordon Smith, Head of Design and Build at 2bm.

“The project to upgrade the legacy facility presents several challenges but we’ve proposed what we believe to be a cost effective solution, and one that takes advantage of the very latest technologies available in a managed and structured way.”
