2bm today announced plans to hold the Longest Day Golf Challenge in 2010. The event will take place in June of next year and the concept is simple!
16 teams / 64 golfers / four rounds of golf / just one day!
2bm Marketing Manager Richard Stanton explained the background to the event, one which it is hoped will raise a significant sum for the Rainbows Children's Hospice and other local worthy causes.
"As a company we have received a lot of support from the local community and it is only right that we look to put something back. We're aware of the fantastic work undertaken by Rainbows and have set ourselves the target of raising £10k."
"The children they look after face a challenge each day of their lives which is why we came up with the concept of the Longest Day Golf Challenge. A lot of us struggle playing 18 holes, so to attempt 72 in just one day is extremely testing."
"But with a bit of precision planning and a lot of stamina, it is possible. And the effort will be worth it, if we can hit our target of raising a five figure sum."
2bm would like to acknowledge the support of local golf clubs Cotgrave Place, Beeston Fields and Ruddington Grange who between them will provide the venues for the test of all golfing tests!
