Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy

1. Business Ethics

2bm is committed to being a responsible business. We aim to ensure that, in everything we do, we meet the highest standards of business conduct.

A summary of our core principles for good business ethics are as follows:

  • We will further develop our standing as a responsible business in the community and look to develop a community programmes which supports our brand values and further promote our recognition as an active contributor to local community development

Demonstrating our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility is a journey, in the course of which we aim to align our business values, purpose and strategy with the social and economic needs of our stakeholders, whilst embedding responsible and ethical business policies and practices into everything we do.

Human rights and diversity

2bm respects all fundamental human rights and are committed to creating a working culture that respects, celebrates and harnesses differences to the benefit of customers, employees, shareholders, business partners and the wider communities within which we operate.

The principle of equal opportunities for everyone in employment is an important part of our working culture, free from discrimination on the grounds of sex, sexual orientation, marital status, creed, colour, race, religion, age, ethnic origin, nationality, union status or disability.

Any allegations of harassment or discrimination will be treated seriously and investigated fully and will be dealt with in accordance with local disciplinary and other appropriate policies.

Community

2bm is committed to good corporate citizenship and to supporting charity and community initiatives which are relevant to its business, employees, customers and stakeholders.

Our appointed charity is Rainbows, a hospice for young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. At Rainbows the emphasis is on enriching life and making each minute of each short life count. Each child is treated as an individual and helped by the skilled, experienced team to get the most from life and enjoy it to the full.    

Criteria for community investment

Our community investment programme centres on two core themes - Education and Sports Participation.

Caring for our Environment

At 2bm, we're committed to understanding our impact on the environment through an agreed set of targets to reduce our carbon footprint.

We will also continue to offer a service to our customers for the responsible recycling of life expired computing equipment, in line with the January 2007 WEEE Directive.

It is important to us that our suppliers and sub-contractors whose products, services or activities are likely to impact on the environment are themselves likewise concerned about the environment.

Marketplace

At 2bm, we aim to achieve success in business by selling our products with integrity and treating our customers and suppliers fairly. It is our goal to continually introduce new products and services to IT professionals to facilitate increased operational efficiencies within data centres and computer rooms, and in doing so reduce carbon emissions.

We will also engage with our key business suppliers to ensure their compliance with our stated policies above.

All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence and used in a responsible and ethical manner.

Key Metrics

2bm is committed to the following:

  • Reduce our carbon footprint by 5% in 2009, with the aim of a 20% reduction by 2015
  • To communicate our CSR policy to all members of staff
  • To survey our business suppliers on a yearly basis to ensure compliance with 2bm's core CSR policies and identify and address any potential problems
  • To educate our customers on how best to make use of new technologies to increase their operational efficiencies
  • To establish the level of our community support and agree an ongoing level of support

Senior Management Commitment

The responsibility for ensuring the company meets the conditions of the CSR Policy, and commits to a programme of continual improvement lies with Managing Director Jason Preston.
