2bm is able to offer a very comprehensive Audit service to those customers who want to investigate and gain a better understanding of the potential energy and operational cost savings within their data centre.

Why is it important?
This audit will help you develop detailed strategies with which to improve the efficiency of your data centre infrastructure and will develop an integrated strategy across IT & Facilities to optimise the data centre as a whole.

How does it work?
Our team will firstly work closely with you on a five stage process:

1. Project Start Up Workshop
   This workshop brings the stakeholders together to ensure we encapsulate the current & future needs and drivers from all areas of the business. We will set out the scope of the work and identify responsibilities.
2. Energy Signature
   In order to truly assess the energy reduction potential it is essential to establish an energy signature of the facility. Measurement is the key to a successful long term energy reduction strategy and once installed, the energy reporting will become a Key Performance Indicator for the data centre.
   Using the industry best practice PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) metric developed by the Green Grid, 2bm will establish a PUE report.
3. Desktop Study
   A desktop study will complete a sub-system performance review and assess the impact of improvements to the space as a whole based on current and future load profiles.
4. Project Review
   During this review 2bm will discuss the results of the desktop study and provide recommendations for quick wins, enhancements and explore longer term investment opportunities.
5. Report
   Based on the outcome of the project review 2bm will discuss the recommendations and next steps towards reducing energy and improving performance of the data centre with your team.
