Carbon Management
2BM is committed to ensuring that Carbon Management is embedded as a core principle in our delivery of services to our customers, and to minimising the impact of our operations on the environment. In particular we commit to:
- Annually measure, assess and report emissions of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases.
- Identify opportunities to reduce these emissions and set targets to do so.
- Promote the benefits of sound energy and environmental management to our customers.
- Encourage the management and reduction of carbon emissions within our supply chain.
- Ensure that our staff are engaged and aware of their responsibility to reduce carbon emissions.
- Allocate responsibility for the management of this policy at Senior Management level.
Through the adoption of this policy 2BM will educate and inform its customers, suppliers, staff and the wider public of the benefits of taking an environmentally sound approach to business through improved energy efficiency, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and lower operation cost.
2BM in the community
At 2bm we enjoy playing a full and positive role in the communities within which we live and work, whether that be in raising monies for local or national charities or in offering practical assistance to local groups.
Our community investment programme centres on two core themes - Education and Sports Participation.
2bm Longest Day Golf Challenge
First held in 2010, this annual event is a test of the most dedicated of golfers. The challenge is simple – four rounds of golf in one day all with the aim of raising money for worthy causes.
Charities to have benefitted from the monies raised so far include Rainbows, a hospice for young people with life limiting and life threatening conditions, and Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres who are due to open a new centre in Nottingham in 2010.
Local team benefit for 2bm support
2bm lent their support to a local football team, donating home and training kit to the side that will make its debut in the local U14 league this September.
2bm recognise that grassroots football is a key part of the local community in which we operate and our sponsorship is part of the company's commitment to put something back into the city and county which has supported our business so well.
2bm search for new stars
In the summer of 2011, 2bm announced a three year sponsorship deal of the Beeston Fields Golf Club Junior Section and their annual Junior Open which attracts some of the region’s top golfing talent.
The golf club does a lot of work locally to attract and nurture youngsters to the game and as a company we are proud to support their efforts to promote the game through greater social inclusion.
Health & Safety
The health and safekeeping of his our workforce is of paramount importance.
Our exemplary record is this area is achieved through a commitment to:
- Continually update and revise our work in line with best practice and regulation
- CCommunicate effectively to visitors, employees and our supply chain
- CAllocate sufficient resources to enable policies to be implemented in full
- CMake best use of specialist advice to deliver in house and external staff training to ensure a our deployment of a well informed and qualified workforce
- CMonitor and report effectively to senior management to ensure continuous improvement
Safe Contractor
2bm is also a member of Safe Contractor, a leading health and safety pre-qualification assessment scheme, dedicated to promoting higher standards of competence and compliance through the provision of relevant industry specific and tailored health and safety assessments.
